MiLB Intern Blog Week 2

west-virginia-power

Well things are quite busy here as we just finished up our 35th home game of the season and the first half of the season. Since it’s the all star break and I have a rare day off I figured I’ d update everyone on what I do on a daily basis , the environment I work in and the people I work with on a daily basis.  The office is located on the second floor of a building on the east end of town. The park itself  opened in 2005.

Now for one the biggest things for people who want to work in Baseball the hours. Here with the Power I work on a normal non game day from 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M and on most game days I work from 8:30 A.M. to ??? (depending on how long the game goes , if stuff needs to be set up for the following nights game. As a sample here the hours I worked last week (this is always subject to change ) :

M-W 8:30 to 5:30
Thursday 8:30 AM to 1:30 AM
Friday: 8:30 AM to 2:30 AM
Saturday 8:30 to 12:00 AM

Sunday : 1030 AM-4:30 P.M.

As for the people I work with (without going into that specific details ) are great . Everyone here loves what they are doing and are good people and they keep things fun and with the hours your at teh park that is always nice. The interns and myself all get along witch is luckily has been the case both internshisp I’ve had in Baseball.   If anyone has any questions or comments on what you want to see or questions about say day to day things let me know.

Hey philipp. Glad things are good at the park. I recently moved here and was looking into checking out a game. How do i go about getting tickets and is there anyway you will have time to talk to me after the games to tell me about Charleston? How is the night life there in Charleston and where are the places to hang out and go? Let me know asap because I am not familiar with these local places. Thanks have a good day. :)

To get tickets you can get them online at wvpower.com or call us at 304-344-2287 and we can get you set up that way. Or if you stop by the park and go to our ticket window during normal business hours you can go about getting your ticket that way. The night life in Charleston is ok it can be hit or miss , but I found a few places I like. As for places to hang out I don’t have a car cause I’m from Oregon and don’t have alot of time to do things so I mostly just hang out with the interns or go out the bars.

As for the games let me know which ones you have an interest in some nights we have like say dollar tickets or thirsty Thursday etc.

As for talking to you after the game I might be able to dependent on what I have going on also may have time to talk during the game dependent on what I have going on. After games the interns have to tear down , lockdown and sometimes have to set up for the next day . If I have time I’d be happy to talk to you.
