6 Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle
Diet and fitness are part of healthy lifestyle choices, not fads or a temporary quick fix, the body can’t sustain massive changes over night. Life happens and it is okay to enjoy it, holidays are times when indulgences happen more frequently. Regardless if you have a date or not this Valentines day, I’m sure some chocolate, candy or even baked treats will find their way under your nose and into your mouth and if you do have a big date tonight there may be a calorie packed dinner with wine and dessert in store.
Here are some of my lifestyle tips for Valentines Day (and every day):
1) Fill up on hearty fibrous nutrient dense breakfast (it will keep you full longer) such as oatmeal with blueberries sprinkled with almonds.
2) Make sure to eat regularly throughout the day so you aren’t starved and ready to cave into mindless indulgences. Pack an apple or a handful of pistachio nuts and you can always snack guilt free on raspberries, celery and carrot sticks.
3) Get a high intensity workout in. Do this super charged full body workout to burn a ton calories, your metabolism will be kicking all day!
Perform 50 reps of each exercise (if you need to modify shave off 10-15 reps) in each circuit only once!
Circuit #1
Pushups (modify on your knees if you need to)
Wide legged squat
Bicycle abs
Take a 1 minute break
Circuit #2
Renegade rows
Alternating jump lunges
Burpees
Take a 1 minute break
Circuit #3
Do 25 reps of each x2
Bicep curl
Shoulder press
Tricep kickback
Take a 1 minute break
Circuit #4
Flutter kicks
Hold plank for 1 minute
Flutter Kicks
Hold plank for 1 minute
4) Portion control, enjoy some goodies but don’t eat the whole box, or drink the whole bottle! Think calories in Vs. calories out!
5) Stay hydrated, especially if you did a killer workout!
6) Grab your love and burn some calories together, the couple that sweats together, stay together!
